Mary Cabot

Mary E. Cabot December 24, 1951 - June 5, 2021 Mary E. Cabot, age 69, passed away on Saturday June 5, 2021, in her home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born December 24, 1951, in Albuquerque, NM to Robert and Phyllis McConkie. Mary graduated from West Mesa High School in Albuquerque, NM, and received both bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from New Mexico State University. She taught for over thirty years, 27 of those in Las Cruces Public Schools as a classroom teacher and reading interventionist at East Picacho Elementary School. Mary was also an active and enthusiastic supporter of New Mexico State University athletics. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, learned from her, and loved her. Mary is survived by two sons, Michael Cabot and his wife Elizabeth of Springfield, Virginia, and Darin Cabot and his wife McKensi of Las Cruces, NM: her mother, Phyllis McConkie of Las Cruces, NM and one sister, Barbara Saunders, of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Rhys and Zoey Cabot, and many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Cabot, her father, Robert McConkie, and her in-laws Bruce and Mozelle Cabot. At her request, cremation has taken place and her remains will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Ave., Las Cruces, NM, 88007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 Montana Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88005.
