Martin Benjamin Bouvet

Martin Benjamin Bouvet, 73 years old, passed peacefully into eternal life on the evening of Monday, December 26, 2022, at his home in Garfield, NM.



Benjie was born on August 2, 1949 and raised in Garfield, NM to Martin and Emma Bouvet. He was one of their seven children: Gloria Duran (Steve), Mary Alice Bouvet Garay, Elsie Terrazas (Ernest), Barbara Goho (Tom), Steve Bouvet (Nellie) and Rebecca Pearson (Tom).



On May 30, 1968, Benjie was joined in marriage to Gilda Lara.



Together they raised five children: Christopher J. Bouvet, Richael Bouvet-Brown (Fred), Rozina Bouvet-Rel (Ricardo), Robyn Bouvet-Ibarra and Craig M. Bouvet.



Benjie graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 1967. He was an award winning cattle showman, baseball coach, farmer, truck driver and guide. In his down time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, taxidermy, and spending time with friends and family, including his grand children: Branden and Joshua Ibarra, Janaya Bunker and Brianna Bouvet, Jocelyn and Benjamin Jenkins, Arianna Rel and his four great-grandchildren.



Services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at San Isidro Catholic Church in Garfield, NM; Rosary at 10am with the Funeral Mass to follow.



Pallbearers are Branden Ibarra, Joshua Ibarra, Benjamin Jenkins, Randy Garay, Estevan Varela and Saul Aguirre. Honorary Pallbearers are Victor Apodaca Jr., Frank Garay Sr., and Patrick Garay.
