Martha Ann Attaway

Martha Ann (Marty) Attaway, passed away from this life on Monday, December 14, 2009. Marty was born to Cecil and Katie Ferguson in Morenci, Arizona on May 7, 1946. She spent her childhood and early adult life in Silver City, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, she moved to Las Cruces where she attended beauty school and eventually opened her own business. She met Patrick Attaway in 1970 and they were married in 1972. They shared 37 happy years together. She is survived by her loving husband Patrick Attaway of the family home; two daughters, Marie Linder of Mesa, Arizona and Tania Hollyfield of Sumersville, South Carolina; sister Mary Ellen Dickerson of Las Cruces; niece Beverly Thorn of Mesilla Park, NM; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Marty in death are her parents; daughter Nora Attaway; brother Richard Ferguson; sisters Louise Thorn, Bobbie Rutland, Peggy Hollingsworth and Murray (Minnie) Lock. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 28, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Chipper Moore of Fairacres Baptist Church officiating.
