Maria Torres

Maria A. Torres, 64, of Las Cruces, NM passed away July 7, 2021. Maria is survived by her husband, David Torres; her children Joanna Rivas (Santos R. Barajas), Jose Chavarria (Natalia Hernandez), and Adrian Acosta (Perla Terrones); her grandchildren Ana Barajas, Evelyn Barajas, Angel Barajas, Adrian Acosta Jr., Crystal Acosta, Lailah Chavarria and Alexis Chavarria. Maria was born October 29, 1957 in Espiritu Santo, Zacatecas, Mexico to Francisco Rivas and Micaela Gonzalez. She moved to Las Cruces in 1992 where she lived the rest of her time. Maria was a house maker who enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with all her grandkids. Services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Getz Funeral home. Viewing will begin at 5:00pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00pm. Mass will take place the following day Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Burial to immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
