Las Cruces – It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Luisa (Mary Lou) Sanchez, 88, of Las Cruces, NM. She left us peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose (Joe) and Maria Munoz, brother Joe Munoz, Jr. and son, Lauriano Sanchez, Jr.
Maria, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, brought warmth and care, devotion and dedication to her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lauriano Sanchez, her sisters, Cecilia, Margaret and Genevieve Munoz, brother Alfred Munoz (Zulema), children, Thomas, John (Sally), Eloy (Melissa), Leticia, and Laurena (Corey), 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Maria will be forever remembered and loved by all who knew her. Funeral services for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Our Lady of Health Parish in Las Cruces. Rosary will start at 10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date.
Pallbearers for the urn carrier are Michael and Matthew Sanchez, Adrian Carrera and Chase Griffiths.
