Maria Luisa Herrera

Maria Luisa Herrera, 80, of Mesquite, NM passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009. She was born June 21, 1928 in Mesilla, NM to Pedro and Luisa Apodaca. Maria was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She a member of the Del Valle Methodist Church in Mesquite, she enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden, visiting with sick folks doing whatever she could to help brighten their day, but her passion was for her family. She will forever be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and love her. Maria is survived by her loving husband David F. Herrera of the family home; sons Ernest Herrera and wife Irma, Arturo Herrera and wife Christina and Andy Herrera and wife Mina all of Mesquite, NM; daughter Belinda Gonzalez-Soto and husband Raul of Las Cruces; grandchildren Caroline, Stephanie, Debbie, Shawn, Ernest, Omar, Estevan and Davina; great-grandchildren Jasmyn, Jonah, Ashlyn, Omar, Joseph, Noah, Shantay and Shantell. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Garzon and Pastor Blanco officiating with burial to follow at Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite, NM.
