Maria Gutierrez

Maria R. (Cuca) Gutierrez was called to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 17, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. She was 85 years old. Maria was born July 4, 1936 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. Her parents were Luis Ramirez and Crisofera Espino. She was the last of six siblings. She married on May 15, 1955, in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, to Salomon Gutierrez. After immigrating to the United States of America in 1963, she worked initially for Burgett Floral in Mayhill and later for the Alamogordo Public Schools for 25 years in the Cafeteria where she retired. She earned her GED and attained her U.S. Citizenship. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Salomon Gutierrez. She is survived by her three sons, Hiram (Blanca), Joel (Karina), Job (Melissa), her grandchildren, Christopher Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez, Vanessa (Oscar) Ramirez, Benjamin Gutierrez, Princess Daisy Gutierrez, Seth Gutierrez, Logan Gutierrez, Naomi Gutierrez, and Noah Gutierrez, Carlos Gutierrez. Her great-grandchildren, Deanna and Marissa Ramirez. Services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alamogordo, NM. Pallbearers will be Hiram, Joel, Job, Benjamin, Logan Gutierrez and honorary pallbearer Kenny Bowman. Visitation will be at the Church from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by the Holy Rosary and the Holy Mass beginning at 11. Graveside services will be held at the Catholic Cemetery on First Street immediately following the Holy Mass on September 23, 2021.
