Margie M. Tibbs

Margie M. Tibbs, 81 of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Casa del Sol Senior Care Center. Margie was born September 12, 1925 in Ada, Oklahoma to Lillow and Emma Lunsford. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Baptist Church. Margie is survived by two sons, Gerald Tibbs of Las Cruces and Larry Tibbs and his wife Kay also of Las Cruces. One brother, Leon Lunsford of Anthony, NM; and one sister Joan Franzoy of Salem, NM. Also surviving Margie are seven grandchildren, Carole York; Brenda Meyers and husband Keith; Mark Tibbs and wife Traci; Lyn Tibbs; Lee Tibbs and wife Jane; Lesley Tibbs and wife Paula; and Larry Don Tibbs and wife Kristen. 25 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter also survive Margie. Margie was preceded in death by her husband James H. Tibbs; daughter in law, Mary Tibbs; two sisters, Velma Lewis and Loretta Threaton. Three brothers, Everet Lunsford, Leo Lunsford, and Manuel Lunsford. And three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Joshua, and Kayla Tibbs. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Barlow officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hatch, NM. Serving, as pallbearers will be Lyn Tibbs, Lee Tibbs, Lesley Tibbs, Mark Tibbs, Larry Don Tibbs, and Steven York.
