Margie Lucille Franzoy

Marge L. Franzoy of Arrey, NM said goodbye to this earth and took her Savior's hand on June 24, 2021 in Las Cruces, NM. She was 89 years old. Marge was born in Merced, California on October 5, 1931 to George W. and Ethel Mae Choate.

Marge married Earnest Riggs in 1948. Later they divorced and she married Stanley D. Franzoy. Stan and Marge were married 39 years. During their years together they raised several kids, even into their old age.

Marge was loved by many, especially her large family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was also a skilled hairdresser. Marge and Stan loved playing cards and dominoes. They were frequently found playing Hand and Foot or 42. If you came to visit, you were often wrangled into a game. She loved the Lord and served Him by serving others in her family, church, and community. She was a true blessing.

Marge is survived by her husband, Stanley, her children, Wayne (Cynthia) Riggs and Rosetta (Larry) Jeter of Las Cruces; Sue Riggs of Arrey; Andy Woolf of Los Lunas; and son-in-law, Tom Vanderhyden of Ruidoso. She is also survived by her step-children, Alan (Deb) Franzoy, Karyn (Rudi) Schmidt, Dianne Garcia, and Laura (Neil) Roberson of Las Cruces; Suzy (Jimmy) Head of Mimbres; and David (Chris) Franzoy of Peralta. Her surviving grandchildren include Nathan Riggs, Travis Jeter, Stephen Jeter, Dinah Lowe, Annette O'Dell, Maggie Evins, and Andrea Gower. She was also blessed by many, many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren from both sides of this colossal blended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; Edith, Lester, Cavard, Audrey, and Hazel. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Vanderhyden, and granddaughter, Shawnna Riggs.

Services were held on June 30 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Garfield and interment followed at the Garden of Memories, Hatch, NM.
