It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margie Ann Franzoy. She passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022, at her home in Salem, NM surrounded by her loving husband and family. Margie Ann Franzoy was born on July 22nd, 1944, in Shoemaker, NM to Elizabeth Gentry Helm and Scotty Helm. She moved to Salem, NM in 1959 where she met and married the love of her life Robert J. Franzoy. Together they raised five children and worked on the family farm "Riverside Farms'' growing onions, chile, potatoes, alfalfa and cotton. Family was of great importance to Margie, and she enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren, playing card games and teaching them how to "cheat" like a pro! She enjoyed her yearly visits from family during green chile harvest and would make sure everyone had enough chile to take home. Margie's famous cinnamon rolls, Christmas cookies, pies and delicious home cooked meals will be greatly missed by everyone. Margie had a generous loving heart and helped raise more children than her own. The kitchen door was always open to those in need, and she always had an extra plate for visitors. She was a devout Catholic, dedicated her time as a catechism instructor for many years and enjoyed taking her grandkids to Sunday Mass.
