Margaret Hetzel

Margaret (Marge) Hetzel, age 94, passed peacefully at Mountain View Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Marge was a long-time resident of Las Cruces; she moved to New Mexico in 1985 and grew to love this community, its history, and its people. An avid genealogist, she was a member of numerous genealogical societies. Marge had many friends of all ages whom she cherished to the end. She is survived by her four children: Linda (Alan) Berna, Jeanne (Alex) Quintero, Gary (Roxanne) Hetzel, and Mark Hetzel; her two grandchildren Wendy (Blake Upton) Jenkins and Emily (Aaron Woessner) Berna; and her great-granddaughter Adeline Berna Woessner. Marge is reunited with her beloved husband Gordon Hetzel, and we take comfort in the knowledge that together they are watching over us all. Services will take place at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Getz Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Throughout her life, Marge loved dogs of all sizes and shapes.
