Manuel Johnson Sambrano

December 20, 1923 — March 29, 2006

Manuel Johnson Sambrano, entered into eternal rest peacefully on March 29, 2006 surrounded by his family. He was born December 20, 1923 in Las Cruces, NM to Manuel and Jane Johnson Sambrano. He was a well-respected Contractor for 45 years. He proudly served his country during WWII in the southern Philippines Luzon and New Guinea Bismarck-Archipelago. He received a Purple Heart, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal for his years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years Inez whom he married on April 29, 1950. Three sons, Manuel Jr₦, Roman and his wife Maxine, Steve and his wife Terry. Two daughters, Frances Apodaca and her husband Albert, Pat Zambardi and her husband Scott. Two sisters, Lita Alvarez and Sadie Sambrano. He never met a stranger, as he befriended everyone. He will be deeply missed by his family and good friends who loved him. Visitation will be Sunday, April 2, 2006 from 5 to 7 PM at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with full military Honors accorded by the El Perro Diablo
