Manuel Jaime, 72 of Tortugas, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. He was born October 7, 1936 in Las Cruces, NM to Servando and Ramona Jaime. Manuel moved to Burbank, California where he worked for 25 years and then returned to Las Cruces where he worked and retired from New Mexico State University. Manuel was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish and danced with the Matachines. Manuel is survived by his wife Isabel; four brothers, Servando, Peter, Rudy Jaime and Ramon Garcia all of Las Cruces. Five sisters, Isabel Bernal, Virginia Lopez, Polly Garcia, Frances Ruiz all of Las Cruces and Mary Tellez of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving is his Godson, Adam Ryan Callahan and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by is parents, Servando and Ramona as well as one brother, Servando. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia in Tortugas, where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 6 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be at the same church at 10 am on Monday, November 17, 2008 with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow at the Tortugas Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Don Adamski. Serving, as casket bearers will be Henry Garcia, Hilario Bernal, Servando Jaime Jr, Jesus Ruiz Jr, Joel Jaime, and Esteban Montiel. PDF Printable Version
