Madonna Lipscomb

November 21, 1953 — October 15, 2016

Madonna J. Lipscomb, Donna, passed away after a long 6 year fight with ovarian cancer at the age of 63. Donna died Friday October 15th 2016 in her Home in Elephant Butte, NM with her husband, Dallas and Step-daughter Michele at her side. She was in Hospice for over 2 years at her home. Donna was born September 21st 1953 in East St. Louis, IL. She was born to Vincent and Winifred Schomaker. She was preceded in death by both her parents and step mother Pauline Schomaker and son Michael Vincent Perry. She is survived by her husband Dallas W. Lipscomb PA-C of Elephant Butte, NM, her brothers Tom Schomaker, Steve Cherry and Vince Schomaker and her sisters Vivian Sparks and Theresa Culver and Cousin Tara Berry. She leaves behind her son, Stephen Perry, Step Daughters Nicole Lipscomb-Flores, Chandra Stinde and Michele Faith and 13 grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is also survived by 3 of her Miniature dachshunds. She was Married October 18th 1997 to Captain Dallas W. Lipscomb PA-C at Eastview Baptist Church in Belleville, IL. She graduated from Belleville West High School age 18. She started working in the kitchen at Belleville Memorial hospital at age 19. Her favorite job was cooking at St. Paul's Apartments/nursing home in Belleville, IL. She received her Certified Medical Assistant from Belleville Area College and used that training to help her husband, Dallas, at the Perry County Wellness Center in Du Quoin, IL. She loved to travel and had many memorable trips to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta- Mexico, Punta Cana- Dominican Republic, Toronto & Montreal- Canada, New York City, NY and Branson Mo. But her lifetime trip was to Maui Hawaii in 2012 while her cancer was calm. Donna has requested no funeral services and in lieu of flowers she would like donations made to Saint Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness, WWW.SLOCA.Org . Getz funeral home of Las Cruces is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in the near future at the VFW Post 1389 in Elephant Butte, NM. PDF Printable Version
