Madeline Patterson

On April 3, 2023, Madeline F. Patterson entered eternal rest at the age of 94. Madeline passed peacefully under hospice care at Hacienda Grace Village in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Madeline was born on July 22, 1928, in Rockford, Illinois to Paul Hjalmer Moline and Goldie Evelyn Wolfe. At a young age, Madeline left home and took the train to Berkeley, CA, to live with her sister, Evelyn. It was there she met her Navy husband, William O. Patterson, and eventually settled in Las Cruces, NM. Madeline was known as a great cook, whose meals always included all of the food groups. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Las Cruces Country Club. Madeline and William eventually retired to Elephant Butte, NM, where she spent many hours volunteering at B.A.S.S. tournament weigh-ins and playing bingo at the VFW. Madeline was blessed with two sons, Steven Allen Patterson and David Lee Patterson, both of Las Cruces, NM; four grandchildren, Stephanie Lianne Garris (Rob) of Henderson, NV, Kristen Tyler (Craig) of Redondo Beach, CA, Brittany Lankford (Kevin) of Dripping Springs, TX, and Bryan Patterson of Las Cruces, NM; and six great-grandchildren, Sofia and Gavin Garris, Thomson and Rosalie Tyler, and Ariel and Alice Lankford. Madeline is preceded in death by her husband William O. Patterson, her parents Paul and Goldie Moline, and all 14 of her siblings: Paul Moline, Harry Moline, Wallace Moline, Charles Moline, Evelyn Muratore, Leon Moline, Wesley Moline, Allen Moline, Ronald Moline, Harriett Pethick, Carol McDaniel, Doris Chandler, Nancy Hammond, and Donald Moline. Madeline will always be remembered as a strong, clever, loving, kind, caring, and compassionate woman who enriched the lives of many and never missed an opportunity to jab you with a witty comeback. The family would like to extend its gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Hacienda Grace Village, Good Samaritan Assisted Living, and Lorena and Angelica (caregivers) for providing her with the attention and care necessary over the past few years. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Ron will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Getz Funeral Home immediately followed by the burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. First Visitation
