Lydia P. Rodriguez

With a mixture of fond memories and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Lydia P. Rodriguez. Lily (as she was so fondly called) peacefully surrendered to the Lord in her home on August 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1938 to Soledad Minjarez and Francisco Perez.

 After her retirement from DACC, She often spent her time with her children and grandchildren. She was well known in the Bingo community as her favorite pastime was playing bingo almost every night.

She is survived by her sisters, Antonia Mijarez and Luz Reyez; her children, Jesus Rodriguez (Irma), Alma Romo, and Patricia Rodriguez (Steve), as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren of Las Cruces. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ascension Rodriguez, her son Francisco Rodriguez, and her daughter, Mary Gutierrez.

Serving as pallbearers include James Wood, Tony Wood, Javier Rodriguez, Albert Trejo, Michael Zuniga and Frankie Rodriguez, with Honorary Pallbearers Jesus Rodriguez and Eric Padilla.

A Public viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 beginning at 5:00 pm followed by Rosary at 6:00pm at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Mass Will take place the following day at Immaculate Heart of Mary at 10:00 followed by Burial at Hillcrest. 

We would like to thank Sierra Healthcare Hospice for providing us with services so that our mother could be at peace during her last days.
