Loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Lucy A. Holguin entered God’s Kingdom on January 7th. Lucy was 69 years old and surrounded by family members in the comfort of her home when she passed.
Lucy was born to David & Anita Archuleta on May 23, 1955. A member of the church at a very young age, Lucy participated in her religious sacraments at San Albino Basilica alongside her family members. Lucy graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1973 and had a natural talent for art & painting. Lucy was an amazing wife and partner to Mel Holguin Jr., to whom she was married to for 44 wonderful years. They truly lived their vows of richer or poorer, sickness and health. Together with Mel, Lucy owned and operated Electrical Contracting Services (ECS) for over 40 years. Lucy’s true passion in life was being a mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Now that Lucy’s has passed into the arms of the Lord, we should remind ourselves that this is the end of Lucy’s physical life on Earth, and the beginning of her eternal and beautiful journey in Heaven.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Mel Holguin Jr. of Las Cruces, NM; her three children, Deanna (Brandon) Remley of Rio Rancho, NM, Sarah (Erik) Kurtz of Las Cruces, NM, and Mel (Vanessa) Holguin of Rio Rancho, NM; six grandchildren, Connor Ratje, David Butler, Michael Remley, Alexander Nelson, Wednesday Holguin, and Chloe Holguin; her mother, Anita Archuleta; her siblings Joe (Olga) Archuleta, Fred Archuleta, Ramon (Dioselina) Archuleta, David Archuleta, and Beatrice Martinez: as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
