Lucia C Martinez-Eck

Lucia C. Martinez-Eck, 57, of Las Cruces, N.M. and formerly of Glendale, A.Z. entered eternal life on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Scottsdale Osborne Medical Center in Scottsdale, A.Z. surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 22, 1958 in Mesilla, New Mexico to Fidencia C. Martinez. Lucia attended Mayfield High School, New Mexico State University and Arizona State where she received her Master's in the medical field. Lucia retired from the medical field as a Phlebotomist and enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army in Glendale, A.Z. Lucia's hobbies included riding motorcycles, watching horror films and reading. She loved cooking and gardening while listening to oldies, spending time with family and friends, and was a devoted catholic. Those left to mourn her passing include: her loving companion Richard Karl Eck of twenty years of Glendale, A.Z. Her children: daughter Stormy Rose Guzman and James Lopez of Glendale, A.Z. and son Nicholas Jonathan and wife Jessica Crespin of Las Cruces, N.M. Five grandchildren: Cypriana Lopez, Dominic Cardenas, Keiziah Crespin, of Las Cruces, N.M., Nicholas and Nathaniel Crespin. Her mother was Fidencia C. Martinez of Las Cruces, N.M. Her siblings include: one brother Jesus C. Martinez and four sisters: Carmen Martinez-" Lopez", Maria Elena and husband Tony Molina, Rosa Isela and husband Steven Sedillo, Graciela and husband Victor Bencomo. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Luci is preceded in death by her nephew Antonio Martinez Molina. Pallbearers will be James Lopez, Eric Richmann, Joey Molina, Marcus Martinez, Nicholas Crespin, Esteban Sedillo, and Richard Karl Eck. Honorary pallbearers: Orlando Contreras, Christopher Hernandez, Dominic Cadenas, Victor Bencomo, Steve Sedillo, Jose Bencomo, Fernando Molina, Jesus Martinez, and Antonio M. Molina. Visitation for Lucia will be Monday March 23, 2015 at Getz Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m., with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1327 N. Miranda Street. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
