Lois Hamilton

Lois Hamilton: Died at the age of 85 on January 21, 2018. Lois was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on September 9, 1932. She was married to Mike Hamilton in Omaha, Nebraska on February 14, 1953. She was a devoted housewife for many years until her husband Mike, an engineer, retired from NASA. They then started and ran their own business, Balloon Boutique, in Las Cruces for 15 years while regularly volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Casa De Peregrinos and other charitable organizations. She and her husband have lived in Las Cruces since 1956. Lois is survived by 5 children, Pat, Bill, Mark, Vicki and Jerry and their spouses: Cheryl, Caren, Paulette, Mohamad and Catherine. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Kristin, John and his wife Chitra, Andrea, Jenny and her husband Vitalis, Garrett, Abe, Sam, Malia, Lisa, Michael & Micaela and four great grandchildren: Robert, Henry, Ryan Elizabeth and Dean. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike, her son, Phillip, and her only sibling, Alden Lloyd Scheidegger. All funeral services will be in Las Cruces, NM. Visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Friday, January 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, January 27th at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics of New Mexico, 6600 Palomas NE #207, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Lois Hamilton will be greatly missed by her family, whom she adored and who adored her, and by her friends who will remember her pleasant, friendly, kind and gracious manner. She felt she lived a wonderfully full life and now rests with God.
