Lila Black Jones

Lila Black Jones, 85, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, August 9, 2009. She was born August 6, 1924 in Barstow, TX to Preston and Willie Black. Lila was a member of Grace Covenant Church. Over the years she was instrumental and a supporting member of 5 churches where she provided support to Missions and Missionary's. Lila was a very creative and hospitable person who enjoyed painting, sewing and cooking. Mrs. Jones will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Norma Sue (Susie) Gibson of Las Cruces; her son Ron Jones and his wife Terri of Las Cruces; grandchildren Robin Elise Wolden, Robert Derek Vincent, Joshua Lee Gibson, Michael Scott Jones, David Preston Jones,Christina Rachael Varela and Rachael Aryn Nicole Jones; great-grandchildren Amy Savannah Vincent, Shayla Rose Vincent, Ethan Derek Vincent, Kieran B. Varela and Christopher J. Wolden. Her loving husband Norman O. Jones; her parents, brothers Oscar Black and G. Vance Black and sister Sarah Ella Wahrmund preceded Lila in death. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Grace Covenant Church with Pastor Doug Coyle officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be, David Preston Jones, Michael Scott Jones, Joshua Lee Gibson, Jacob Varela, Robert Derek Vincent and Stuart John Wolden.
