Life Legacy

Charles laird, 51, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on October 14, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. He was born on September 11, 1963 to the late Louin Laird and Georgetta in Las Cruces, NM. His is survived by his Mother, Georgetta and Stepfather Terry Chappell of Las Cruces, NM, Uncle Chuck Murrell, of Las Cruces and Half Sister Celeste Laird and a niece, of Jefferson City, Mo. and many cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his Father; grandparents, Hudson & Elizabeth Murrell and Rayburn and Pauline Laird. Charles graduated from Las Cruces High School 1982, where he played in the marching band. He was a cook at Denny's Restaurant before he became paralyzed from a car wreck in 1983. He loved the outdoors, which included hunting, water skiing and boating. He leaves behind many classmates and friends who he has kept in touch with by using facebook, and his computer which became his way of communication in his life. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM.
