Joseph M. "JoJo" Nunez, 64, finally received his invite to the big party in the sky on February 15, 2015, while at his home in Hatch, NM. Joe was born on November 10, 1950 in Ventura, CA to Augustine and Tillie Nunez. Joe as he was fondly known had a passion for the dirt, water and the Earth. He was not your typical farmer. He spent his entire life farming with his brothers. He especially loved farming in his sandals, Ray bans and Hawaiian Shirts! He loved his dog Chula very much and watching western films. Joe is survived by 4 children Eric Nunez (Vanessa) of Dexter, NM, Michelle Gillis (Matthew) of Rincon, NM, Christopher Nunez of Las Cruces, NM and Jennifer Hernandez of Hatch, NM . Also surviving him are 4 grandsons Wyatt and Layton Gillis, Urijah Nunez and Yadid Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents Augustine & Tillie Nunez, Brother Raymond Nunez. A celebration of life party will be held the Gillis home in Rincon, NM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00pm. His remains will be laid to rest with his family in Camarillo, CA.
