Life Legacy

Xavier Anthony Contreras, 35, of Las Cruces passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home. He was born July 15, 1980 in San Diego, California to Anita Rios and Javier Contreras. Xavier graduated Mayfield High School in 2000 and later attended Dona Ana Community College, graduating in 2013 with an Associate's degree in Water Technology. Xavier loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, always ready to help in any way. He would put a smile on your face and in your heart. He loved the Lord and was a communicant at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving parents Anita and Pete Rios of Las Cruces, Javier Contreras of San Diego California. Five sisters Joanne Contreras, Adriana Dominguez (Frankie), Gracie Rios all of Las Cruces. Vanessa and Angelina Contreras of San Diego, California. Maternal grandparents Norberto and Rita Ordunez, paternal grandparents Pete and Margaret Contreras of Las Cruces, Pablo and Maria Rios of La Mesa, NM. Also surviving him is his lifelong friend, Crystal Sandoval and Gabriel Marquez (who Xavier loved dearly as his own son), and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Josie Rodriguez, grandfather Joe A. Zamora, Aunts Joanne Louise Zamora and Dora Rivas, and Benito Aguilera. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 9:00AM in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
