Brian Lee Maestas passed away on Thursday August 6, 2015 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was 24 years old. Brian was a young man whom made friends with everyone he met, was an avid skate and snowboard rider, and was known for his generosity. His family knew Brian as the kid who would give the shirt off of his back to help someone. He would use his mechanical acumen to repair the cars of those who could not afford a mechanic. Several times during his life, Brian, saved elderly neighbor's lives by checking on them to make sure they were okay. On Saturday mornings you would catch Brian helping his Father repair an air conditioner or trimming the trees. While Brian was generous to everyone he met he was a fighter in life. His estranged birth parents abandoned him when he was two months old along with four other siblings after his birth in Palms Springs California, on February 18, 1991. Brian overcame many obstacles caused by this pain and became the person everyone came to love. However, despite his fighters heart, Brian, was unable to beat the addictions inherited from his natural parents. Brian is survived by his Father Enrique M. Maestas and Mother Elena Maestas. He also had one brother Mark Maestas and four siblings by his estranged birth parents. Brian also had a very large extended family to include several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Visitation for Brian will be on Thursday August 13, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm at Getz Funeral Home located at 1410 E. Bowman Ave. in Las Cruces, NM. The celebration and memorial service will be on Friday morning at 10:00am at Temple Baptist Church located at 2300 E. Missouri Ave in Las Cruces, NM. Interment will follow immediately after Brian's Celebration of Life at Masonic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
