Life Legacy

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend Margarita (Margie) Ramos Jerome, 89. Margarita was granted her angel wings and was called home to be with her heavenly father on the morning of Monday, June 20, 2016. Margarita was born on January 8, 1927 to Maria Calderon and Librado Ramos. She was one of five children. Her sisters were Dolores R. Gomez, Josephine R. Delgado and Beatrice Ramos, and one brother Raymundo Ramos. On June 28, 1956 Margarita married the love of her life of 42 years Donald Jerome. After they married they moved to California. Shortly after Donald's passing Margarita relocated back to Las Cruces, New Mexico to care for her niece Maria Louisa Amesquita for several years. Margarita was a faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church and a dedicated member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Margarita is survived by a sister-in-law Juanita Ramos and two brother-in-laws Benjamin Ortiz, Sr. and Doug Jerome, nieces and nephews Olivia K. LeFevre (husband Lonnie), Andres Gomez, Victor Gomez, Edmund Gomez, Hector Gomez, Benjamin Ortiz, Jr., Oscar E. Delgado (wife Betty), Johnny Ramos (wife Theresa), and Albert, several grand nieces and nephews, and many friends. Margarita is preceded in death by her husband Donald Jerome, sisters Josephine R. Delgado, Beatrice Ramos, Dolores R. Gomez, brother Raymundo Ramos, brother-in-law Robert S. Gomez, and niece Maria Louisa Amesquita. Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, July 2, 2016. With a prayer vigil to be held at 9:30 A.M., funeral mass at 10:00 A.M., followed by an inurement at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Columbarium.
