Life Legacy

Josesh E. (Joe) Cassles died August 28, 2016 at the La Posada Hospice in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 67. Joe was born in San Angelo, Texas, the youngest child of George E. and Dorothy Cassles. He attended school in San Angelo and served in the US Navy. He married Judy Wilson of Hobbs New Mexico in 1980 and they moved to Las Cruces in 1986. Retired from G.E. Medical Systems, he was an avid photographer and wood worker and an active participant with Donate Life of New Mexico. He is survived by daughter Marie Duitman, Las Cruces New Mexico; son James Roberts and wife Martha of Allen, Texas; son Tim Cassles of San Angelo; daughter Sandy Mayer and husband Richard of Aurora, Colorado; daughter Joanna Snell of Seguin, Texas; and grandchildren Breanna Rel, James Duitman, Connor Clelland, Dylan Roberts, Ryan Mayer, Madison Mayer, Taylor Mayer, great- grandson Nolan Bustos, and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Las Cruces at 10:00 on Saturday, September 3, 2016, with gathering of friends and family, at the Getz Funeral Home on Friday, September 2 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A reception will be held at the church following the memorial service on Saturday.
