Life Legacy

Shane William Smith graced us with his presence on December 17, 1986 and left us on January 5, 2017 at the age of 30. Shane was a 2008 graduate of Onate High School. He is survived by his loving parents, Bill and Arlene Smith, his sister Denise Rajala (Brian) and his twin nieces (Alexis and Raquel Rajala). He is also survived by his loving grandmother Sally Sisson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country. Shane was a member of the Special Olympics, excelling in bowling and bocce ball winning many gold, silver, and bronze medals in the last fifteen years. Shane enjoyed spending time with his friends at dances, parties, movies, and other outings. Shane was famous for his annual Halloween party. One of Shane's favorite pastimes was spending time at the casino with his grandmother Sally as well as with his friends. Services for Shane will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church at 1701 Missouri Avenue. Reception to follow at the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Las Cruces Adult Program at PO Box 784, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88004.
