Life Legacy

Alfred T Woods died in Mountain View Hospital on July 3, 2017 in Las Cruces, NM at the age of 54. Alfred Woods is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Geri) Rios, sons, Alfred Tyson Woods and Jonathan T Woods, sisters, Mary Sanchez, Stella Sanchez, Maria Thompson, and Ruth Sanchez, brothers John, Danny, and Arthur. He is preceded in death by his mother, Inez Torrez, and father, Alfred T Woods Sr. Alfred Woods was born on January 8, 1963 in Roswell, NM. Lived the last 30+ years in a loving relationship with Geri; enriched by his sons Tyson and Jon and his very close nephew Manuel. He enjoyed skateboarding and racing cars in his youth. His love for fast cars continued as he restored classic cars over the years. Although he had a hard exterior, he loved his family and friends with a big heart, selflessly. He will be missed tremendously by those close to him. We will miss his stories of youthful adventures with his brothers, nephew and others who had crossed his path. A visitation will be held July 5, 2017, Wednesday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. in Las Cruces. A memorial service will be officiated by Brother Jimmie Arellano the following day, July 6, 2017, Thursday at 2:00pm at Getz Funeral Home followed by burial at Missionary Ridge Cemetery, (Mesquite Cemetery). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alfred's life. The family would like to thank Dr. De La Vega for his diligence in caring for Alfred for 26 years. Additionally, we would like to thank Dr. Cadena, Dr. Reynolds, and the many medical professionals for consistently providing the utmost care, helping Alfred throughout his life, both in and out of the hospitals.
