Leonard "Gua" F. Montoya, 35, of Las Cruces died Wednesday April 25, 2007 at his home in Las Cruces, NM. He was born June 16, 1971 in Clinton, OK to Henry Hovey and Teresa Montoya. Gua graduated from Onate where he was a member of the football team. He had a great love for music and sports, with the Raiders and Cubs being his teams. Gua was known by many as a true friend, always bringing a smile to everyone's face. He was kind and gentle, and always willing to help others, he will be missed by all. He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Jade Montoya of Las Cruces, NM; his mother, Teresa Montoya of Las Cruces, NM; four brothers, John Hovey and wife Shannon of Seattle, WA; Henry Hovey and wife Jenny, Mikey Montoya, and Adam Montoya all of Las Cruces, NM; two sisters, Corina Chase and husband George, and Merlinda Pate and husband Nathan all of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by three aunts, Mattie Sanchez and husband Leo, Shirley Moler, Francis Montoya all of Las Cruces, NM; three uncles Lupe Montoya and wife Holly of Clinton, OK; Antonio Montoya and wife Nora of Las Cruces, NM; Ramon Montoya and wife Maria of El Paso, TX; and by many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. A visitation will be held Sunday April 30, 2007 from 5-7 PM at Getz Funeral home with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 PM also in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be given on Monday April 30, 2007 at 10 AM at the St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rohr, Richard Gonzales, Phillip Sanchez, Nathan Pate, Orlando Tirre, Rick "Beef" Flores, Richard Bustillos, and Frank Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers are Julian Bustillos, Daniel Carbajal, Ron George, and David Coca.
