Laurie Putman, 49, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 15, 2011. She was born June 14, 1961 in Las Cruces to Ruben Bustos and Jean Benavidez. Laurie will be greatly missed by all her loved ones and friends. She is survived by her two children Stacy Pacheco and husband Chris and James Contreras; her companion Joe Morales and three grandsons Isaac, Nathaniel and Matthew. Laurie is also survived by her mother Jean Benavidez; brothers Ruben Bustos, Frank Bustos and wife Molly and Richard Benavidez and wife Luisa; sisters Gloria Padilla and husband Michael, Terri Trujillo and husband Lalo and Joanie Gardner and husband Henry. Laurie was preceded in death by her father Ruben Bustos. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 am on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate her life will follow at 11 am with Rev. Joe Whitley officiating.
