Born in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 1, 1978, Kyle moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in
1984 with adoptive parents Peter Gregware Harmony and Marni Harmony. His new life
amazed him, particularly snow. After his parents divorced, he spent school months with
his adoptive mother in Florida and holidays and summer with his adoptive father in
Phoenix and then Las Cruces. At age 16, he moved full time to Las Cruces, graduating
from San Andres High School in 1997. He moved to Albuquerque soon after.
In 2001, Kyle met the love of his life, Mary Alice Flores of Albuquerque. They had two
children: Asia, born 2003, and Ethan, born 2006. He worked as a nurse’s aide at UNM
University Hospital and then as a security guard.
He moved back to Las Cruces in 2019. At the time he was studying IT and cyber
security, but he had a strong interest in psychology. He and Mary were separated at the
time, but they reunited in the summer of 2020 in Las Cruces.
Kyle loved soccer. He played, refereed and coached as a teenager in Las Cruces. He
backpacked with his father, including a memorable journey along the Continental Divide
Trail in Colorado. Later, he enjoyed camping and fishing, particularly at Fenton Lake in
Jemez. In more recent years, he relished video gaming with his children and playing the
Dungeon Master on many sessions of Dungeons and Dragons. He was creative and
skilled with crafts. He also prided himself on corny Dad jokes.
Kyle tried to live by the motto: “Always be better tomorrow than you were yesterday.”
He is survived by his wife Mary and son Ethan, both of Las Cruces; his daughter Asia,
son-in-law Joseph Poitra and granddaughter Marceline of Lakewood, Colorado; his
parents Peter Gregware and Nancy Baker of Las Cruces; and his adoptive mother
Marni Harmony of Orlando, Florida.
