Kenneth A. Johnson

Kenneth A. Johnson, 85, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, July 11, 2010. He was born Sept. 27, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Ferdinan and Jennie Johnson. Ken was a veteran of the US Marines where he served his country honorably during WW II as a Sergeant. He also was retired after many years of faithful service as a District Conservationist with the US Dept. of Agriculture. Ken was a life member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the D.A.V. and the Masons. He also loved flying, being a ham radio operator, the outdoors and camping, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Bee of the family home; sons Jerry Johnson and wife Margaret of Vancouver, WA and Roger Johnson of Chaparral, NM; daughter Judith Skeen and husband David of Litchfield Park, AZ; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be at 10 AM on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home with Mike Tellez officiating. The Devil Dogs Marine Corp of Las Cruces will provide military honors. Ken's cremains will be laid to rest at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
