Juan Francisco Rutherford Rubio, born on February 5, 1970, passed away on November 30th, 2022, at the age of 52, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Paco, as his family affectionately called him, was born to Alicia Delgado Renteria in Mxico and raised in California by his loving mother Adriana Lopez. He was named after his grandmother Juana Francisca, known by all as Mam Pachi. He graduated from Chico High and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army in 1989. He served in the first Gulf War. Paco and his wife Joann were married in November 21, 2006 and remained so for the rest of his life. They are parents to their sweet son Nicolas. Paco was preceded in death by his birth mother Alicia, his siblings Lubia, Fabiola, Luis and Alan, his dear grandmother Mam Pachi, and other extended family members. He is survived by his wife Joann, his son Nicolas, daughter Nicole, his mother Adriana, his sister Liz, and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who shall miss him dearly. Paco grew up with his two siblings, Liz, and Lubia "Gina" whom he loved profoundly. He was a kind brother and a loving son, a friend to many, and an outstanding citizen and veteran. Paco worked as a member of the United States Border Patrol since 2009 and was stationed at El Paso sector in Deming, New Mexico. Members of the U.S Border Patrol were like family to him, and he was proud to belong to a band of brothers who supported him in life and who have sustained his family upon his passing. Those who had the blessing of knowing Paco will attest to his kind nature, joyful personality, and positive mindset. His exceptional sense of humor was part of his daily life, and he had a way of making people laugh with him and want to be around him. Paco was devoted to his family. His greatest joy was being a dad to his son Nicolas and Nicole. He loved spending every moment with Nicolas and the two could be described as two peas in a pod. Their mutual love was reflected in their daily interactions, and they had a special connection that will transcend time. Paco was an attentive and loyal husband to his wife Joann, and a caring son and brother. His presence in our lives left an indelible mark, and our memories of him will serve as a reminder of a life well-lived. His family would like to thank the first responders, the ER, and the Care Team at Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Paco's short stay. The family is very grateful to the U.S. Border Patrol for their support through this difficult time, and to all extended family and friends for their sustaining prayers. Funeral services will be held at Las Cruces First, Monday, December, 19 at 10:00 am. Following the funeral, Paco will be buried with military honors at Fort Bliss. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to BP Peer support. First Visitation
