Josephine Bailey

It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mother Josephine (Nena) Rodriguez Bailey at the age of 93. She was born in Corpus Christi Texas on January 10, 1930, to George Schunior and Maria Nieto. She graduated from "Roy Miller High School" in 1949. That same year she met our father Daniel P. Rodriguez a Marine, stationed at the Naval Air Station. They were married in 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Daniel passed away February 7, 1981. She worked at Farmers and Merchant Bank, which later became Western Bank and retired after 30 years. She met her second husband John Bailey, five years later and they were married on December 3, 1988. John Bailey was tragically taken from us on November 11, 2004. Nena is survived by her children, Daniel John Rodriguez, Maria Rosario Rodriguez of the family home and Gilbert Larry Rodriguez of Las Cruces. Grandson Daniel L. Rodriguez of Corpus Christi Texas, sister Yolanda Bernal of Corpus Christi, Texas, brother Santos Cuevas of Houston Texas, sister-in law Karen Rodriguez of L as Cruces and Irma Schunior of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for July 5, 2023, at Saint Genevieve Catholic Church. Rosary is at 1:30 followed by the mass at 2:00.
