Jamey Wondel Creager, age 66, went into Jesus's arms in paradise on May 6th, 2023 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jamey was born on January 11th, 1957 in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wondel and Lileen Creager. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Creager and two daughters, Jodi and Jana Creager and grandchildren and son in law. Steve Brewster and Jerald Warwick were his best friends. Jamey enjoyed reading and collecting books. Jamey was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved the word of God and studied the bible in the original biblical languages. He taught sermons describing what the words meant in their original text. He loved science fiction and history. He studied ancient Greek at Lubbock Christian College and took college credits in high school. Jamey loved to learn and he was a self-taught, multilingual in Spanish, German, and Greek. Jamey loved to garden and at one time grew over 200 species of garlic. He also loved to grow different species of roses. Jamey was a welder with his father and loved to build with wrought iron. Jamey loved to cook and made his own bread and pizza. Jamey worked in several hardware stores in Hatch, New Mexico and was beloved by his many friends and colleagues. Jamey will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
A Public viewing will be held at Getz Funeral Home Chapel in Las Cruces, New Mexico from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023.
One of his favorite bible verses: Philippians 4: 6-7 KJV: "6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
