James “Jim” Alfred Revell, born on October 11, 1946, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Gertrude Rapp Henderson and Glenn Alfred Revell, passed away on March 6, 2025. Jim was a beloved brother to five sisters: Gwen Beene (deceased) of Louisiana, Judy Beene of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sheryl Fluckinger of Provo, Utah, Debbie Revell of Illinois, and Sally Romney of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

In his youth, Jim moved from Nebraska to New Mexico, attending Alameda Junior High and graduating from Las Cruces High School in 1964. Following high school, he pursued his passion for fine arts at New Mexico State University. In 1967, Jim was drafted into the US Army, where he served one tour in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and service.

Upon returning from Vietnam, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Leana Lynne Allen. The couple enjoyed a happy marriage spanning 55 years and raised two sons: Benjamin Allen Revell of San Antonio, Texas, and Quinton Alexander Revell of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jim furthered his education by completing a bachelor's degree in fine arts at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and a master's degree in fine arts at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas.

Jim had a distinguished career as an art teacher, inspiring middle and high school students across Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Florida. His students adored him, and many remained in contact with him throughout his life. Jim's gentle nature, sense of humor, and zest for life endeared him to all who knew him.

Although there will be no formal funeral or memorial service, Jim's family will hold a private gathering to honor his memory. Jim Alfred Revell's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed by many.
