Jack M. Lewis

September 24, 1923 — April 9, 2006

Jack Morris Lewis 82 of 4167 Calle Americana, Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away on April 9 at his home amongst family. A native of Frederick, Oklahoma had lived in New Mexico since 1953. He was the son of the late Tom C. and Mirty Lewis. He is survived by his wife Alma Lorraine Lewis, a daughter Phyllis Carter, two grandchildren, David Paul and Samantha Carter, two great -grandchildren, Chase Paul, Cheyenne Paul and a brother Charles Lewis. He served in the US Army during World War n in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was involved in two invasions and decorated with the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Presidential Citation. He was a member of an elite group in the army, the Darby Rangers. After his discharge he was employed in the Fire Dept. at Frederick Army Air Field, retiring as Fire Chief of White Sands Missile Range in 1973. He finished his working career in Civil Engineering in 1993. No services are planned. Remains will be interned in the Frederick, Oklahoma Cemetery and he would have said, "not to worry because I've gone where the wild goose goes." PDF Printable Version
