Irene Charlotte (Anderson) Caldwell was born on April 22, 1933 in Providence, RI. She graduated from Nurses' training school with her RN degree in 1953. In 1954 she married Robert C. Caldwell, whom she had met when she was only 6 years old and he was friends with her older brother. Together, they had 56 great years, raised 5 children, and had 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In 1989 they left the cold of New England for the warmth of southern New Mexico. She was actively involved in Mission Lutheran Church, running Altar Guild and training acolytes for many years. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother and 2 sons Kenneth C. and R. Craig Caldwell. She is survived by her husband Robert C. Caldwell, a daughter in Exeter, Rhode Island, Christine Southworth, a daughter in Las Cruces, New Mexico, KarenAnn Caldwell-Stalker and a son in Somerset, Massachusetts, Stephen Caldwell, their spouses Gary Southworth, James Stalker and Mary Caldwell, 4 grandchildren: Gregory and Geoffrey Southworth, Rose Caldwell and Charlotte Stalker and 1 great grandchild Madeline Southworth. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Mission Lutheran Church in Las Cruces, NM with Pastor Robert Carabotta officiating. In Lieu of flowers Irene's family asks donations be made in her name to either the Humane Society or Mission Lutheran Church. PDF Printable Version
