Hermilo 'Juni' Salcedo

September 11, 1954 — August 5, 2012

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Hermilo Salcedo, 57, of Las Cruces, NM on Sunday August 5, 2012. During the course of his life, he touched the lives of many around him and will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and family and his willingness to help anyone in need. Hermilo "Juni" as he was known, was born on September 11, 1954 to Mary Salcedo and the late Hermilo Salcedo in Fabens, Texas. He graduated from Bel Air High School in 1973 and furthered his education at DABCC where he was a meritorious graduate. Hermilo was the owner and operator of Southwest Iron Designs. Hermilo was dearly loved by his loving wife, family, friends and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his adoring wife of 38 years Nancy Salcedo of the family home; son Michael Salcedo; daughter Brandy Salcedo;grandchildren Michael B. Salcedo, Marina Salcedo and Karina Salcedo and their mother Jesusita Guerrero; his mother, Mary Salcedo; brother Isidro Salcedo and wife Lucy; sister Esther Buerger and husband Lonnie, sister Elizabeth Darrow and husband Clayton and sister Elena Sykes; and by many nieces, nephews and friends. He loved finding ways to bring smiles and laughter to Brandy with his humor, which made her "daddy's little girl". His passion was watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball and telling anyone who would listen how proud he was of them. He was artistic with drawing and his iron designs. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his son at the drag races. Hermilo is preceded in death by his father Hermilo Salcedo and brother Raul Salcedo. Serving as Pall Bearers will be Michael Salcedo, Michael B. Salcedo, Isidro Salcedo, Alfonso Chavez, David Lazo and John Ballesteros. Visitation for Mr. Salcedo will be on Friday August 10, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., where a prayer service will follow at 7:00p.m., at Getz Funeral Home 1410 E. Bowman Ave. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the same chapel with Pastor Louie Rey officiating, burial will follow at Dona Ana Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
