Henry Magallanez Jr. 81, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. He was born Dec. 16, 1929 in Marfa, TX to Henry and Concha Molinar Magallanez Sr. He retired as a plumbing/refrigeration instructor with the Job Corps after many years of faithful services. Henry enjoyed dancing, reading, history and teaching, but his love was for his family. Mr. Magallanez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son Henry Magallanez III and wife Diana of Las Cruces; daughters Melba L. Ramos and husband Jesus, Joyce A. Aranda, Jessie M. Giron and husband Frank and Nancy M. Montoya and husband Alex all of Las Cruces; brother Hilario Magallanez of El Paso, TX and by his sister Elva Alanis of Odessa, TX. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Anton and Marisa Magallanez, Jacob and Benjamin Aranda, Jassim and Laila Nevarez, Lorraine Guillen, Omar and Matthew Montoya and by his 11 great-grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his daughter Lorraine Magallanez. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Getz Funeral home. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry's grandchildren, Anton Magallanez, Jacob and Benjamin Aranda, Jassim and Laila Nevarez and Omar and Mathew Montoya.
