Hector T. Munoz

Hector "Sungie" Muoz Sr., 67 a resident of Los Lunas passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Hector is the youngest child born to Efren Muoz and Maria Luz Trujillo on May 30, 1951, in Tortugas, New Mexico. Hector is a military veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served during Vietnam. After serving for his country he created a successful construction business, building homes in California for more than 20 years. Later he would relocate to New Mexico where he worked in the Engineering Department at the Albuquerque VA Hospital until his retirement. Hector is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Marie Muoz and his siblings Ernesto Muoz (Abbey) of Tortugas, NM, Roberto Muoz (Jenny) of Carson, CA, Efren Muoz Jr. of Los Lunas, NM, Alfredo Muoz of Dona Ana, CA, Bernice Trujillo (Frank) of Albuquerque, NM, Otilia Singh (Lucas) of Mesilla Park, NM, Alicia Lucero of Menifee, CA and Sister-in-law, Lucy Muoz of Tortugas, NM. He is also survived by his eight children Lori Muoz, Johnny Gonzales, Orlando Muoz, Richard Legarda, Gabriel Muoz, Jacob Muoz, Monique Muoz, and Teresa Muoz; by 36 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Hector Muoz Jr., his three brothers Arturo Muoz, Raul Muoz, Ruben Muoz, his sister Aurora Rich, and his parents. Hector was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He had a great sense of humor and would always take the time to help those in need. Hector will be fondly remembered with cherished memories by his many family members and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. Hector will be laid to rest at Tortugas Cemetery on July 7th, 2018 at 10:00 am with Military Honors. A funeral liturgy is scheduled to follow , starting at 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish in Tortugas, NM. Service Information
