Harold L. Hough

March 30, 1917 — August 28, 2009

Harold L. Hough, 92, of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal life on August 28, 2009 at his home surrounded by dear loved ones. He was born on March 30, 1917 in Lancaster, Wisconsin to Clyde and Bessie Hough; He was the oldest of three children. On September 30, 1947 in Lancaster, Wisconsin he married the love of his life, Sigrid Wisniewski. In 1957 they relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Harold was a veteran of World War II and loved his country deeply. He worked as an electronic technician for Holloman Air Force Base until 1970. In 1971 he worked for the City of Las Cruces with the Traffic Department until his retirement in 1984. He is survived by his wife, companion and friend of 62 years Sigrid Hough of the family home, son Alfred (Freddy) and wife Nila Hough of Siloam Springs, AK, two daughters, Doris and Etta Hough both of Las Cruces, NM, grandchildren, Lee McGuire, Jason and wife Christy Hough, Brian Hough, Shawn Hough, great-grandchildren, Ella Hough, Mia Hough, Olivia (Libby) Hough Zachary Hough, Gabriel Hough, his furry friends, Othello, Susie, Schatzie, many nieces and nephews and by his devoted and best friends Grover Pettes, Jeannine, Thiery and Jesse Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Bessie Hough, stepmother Marie Hough, brother Donald Hough, sister Janice Hough Knapp, niece Pebble Johnson and great-niece Lindsey Reynolds. Harold's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Baker and Jon LaVertu for their wonderful care; to Myeesha and Amanda, his very special caregivers and Zendia for being there in our time of need. Also to Mesilla Valley Hospice, Ambercare and Comfort keepers. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on September 1, 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joseph Whitley of St. Paul's United Methodist Church officiating. His family request in lieu of flowers donations be made in Harold's name to Mesilla Valley Hospice 299 E.
