Guadalupe G. Holguin

December 6, 1946 — December 27, 2016

Guadalupe G Holguin, age 70, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on December 27, 2016 with his daughter by his side. "Chupin," as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born to Julio and Felicitas Holguin on December 6, 1946 in Las Cruces NM. Guadalupe served his country honorably in the U.S. Airforce for 4 years, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, an active member of VFW 3242 and of the Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family and his bird "Rico," his passion was also riding his Harley Motorcycle. Chupin married his belated wife Velma Holguin on August 8, 1967 in Michigan, where they raised their children Michael and Rachel. Chupin retired as a Pipe Fitter/Welder with DOW Chemical, he was also a welder instructor at Dona Ana Branch in Las Cruces. He is survived by his son Michael Holguin and wife Wendy of Midland, MI, daughter Rachel Hart and husband Dave of Rio Rancho, NM, his brothers Julio Holguin, Raymond and wife Priscilla, his sisters Mary Trujillo and husband T.J., and Rosemary Narvaez all of Las Cruces NM. Five grandchildren, Destiney, Brittney, Anthony, Alexander, and Noah and 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is proclaimed in death by his wife Velma Holguin and brother George Holguin. Services for Chupin will be on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:30 am at Saint Genevieve Church and a reception to follow at the VFW.
