Gregory Lennes

It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the passing of Gregory Lennes, 77, on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from Stage 4 cancer. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 5, 1947 to the late Genevieve and Larry Lesniewski. He had one brother, Gary Lesniewski, who lives in Tyler, TX and a sister, Connie (Peter) Meyer who lives in Dallas, TX. Greg moved to Las Cruces, NM in July 2004 with his wife, Kathleen, from Chicago, IL. He was a graduate from the University of Illinois Chicago where he completed a Masters degree in History. He had a storied career mostly with International Harvester (Navistar, now International Motors LLC). He started as the Archivist for International Harvester. He then was Corporate Secretary for the company for many of their subsidiaries and Assistant Corporate Secretary for the parent company.

He had four children; Robert (Jolene) from Pleasant Prairie, WI; Sandra (Keith) from Naperville, IL; Shawn (Jennifer) from Summerville, SC, and Bonnie from Las Cruces, NM. He was a treasured grandfather of seven (Scott, Charlie, Amanda, Olivia, Skylar, Cali & Holly).

Greg was the SWEETEST, kindest, loving husband and father and will be so greatly missed. His request was to be cremated with no local service planned. His ashes will be scattered in his beloved Organ Mountains. A Celebration of Life will be held in early 2025.
