Gloria S. Sanchez

Gloria S. Sanchez, 62 years of Las Cruces, NM died Monday November 7, 2005 at her home. She was born July 21, 1943 in Hatch, NM to Efrain and Vila Serna. Gloria enjoyed her time at many casinos and traveled as far as Laughlin and California. She also enjoyed her Bingo nights. Gloria was a loving and special person to all her nieces, nephews, friends, sisters, parents and especially to her children and grandchildren. Baking and crocheting were among some of the hobbies that she enjoyed. She was also a member of the Catholic Church. Gloria is survived by her two sons, Randy Sanchez of Las Cruces, NM and Ronnie Sanchez of Whittier, CA; one daughter, Patty Schleinitz and her husband Ken of La Mirada, CA. Her mother Vila Realzola of Hatch, NM. Six sisters, Sally Baker of Victorville, CA; Lizzie Sanchez of La Mirada, CA; Dora Ruiz of Hesperia, CA; Cindy Castillo of Norwalk, CA; Ruby Leyva of Hatch, NM; and Lydia Manning of Las Cruces, NM and four grandchildren, Lance and Lauren Moore, Taylor Schleinitz and Jonathan Sanchez also survive her. The family of Gloria would also like to acknowledge a very special friend, Rosemarie Esquivel (Guera) for every thing she did. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, November 11, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Gardens of Memories Cemetery in Hatch. Officiating will Rev. Enrique Lopez Escalera. Serving, as pallbearers will be Chris Sanchez, Artie Leyva, Mario Castillo, Louie Avalos, Ronald Gonzalez, and Frankie Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Lance and Lauren Moore, Taylor Schleinitz and Jonathan Sanchez. PDF Printable Version
