Gloria P Lopez

Gloria P. Lopez, 87, of Las Cruces passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was born in Las Cruces on January 18, 1934 to Gabriel and Ciprianna Parra. Gloria was a housewife and worked at home ironing, sewing, and babysitting for family and friends and those in her neighborhood. She was known as "grandma" to many and was very fond of the children she took care of while their parents worked. Her favorite pastime was watching western movies on t.v. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Edward P. Lopez, parents, siblings, and son-in-law Mario Flores. Those who survive Gloria are three sons, Edward Lopez (Dianne), Andres Lopez, Javier Lopez, and four daughters, Margaret Flores, Teresa Lopez, Clara Lopez, and Mary Starkey. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her special neighbors Yvonne and Eddie Flores. A visitation will be held Monday, February 22nd at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. and a prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Due to Covid restrictions, seating will be limited. Paul bearers are Jacob Lopez, Timothy Lopez, Christopher Flores, Andrea Lopez, Jeremiah Lopez, Matthew Rios, Christopher Starkey, and Javier Lopez.
