Glenn Sherbondy

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Glenn W. Sherbondy Sr. on January 2nd, 2025 at the age of 87. Glenn was born in Jamestown, Pennsylvania. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed his last years in his favorite place, Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He is survived by his children, Glenn (Debbie) Sherbondy Jr., James (Danielle)Sherbondy, and Sherry Sherbondy (John Hawkins), along with their children and grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Waite Sherbondy, his second wife, Janet Miller Sherbondy, and his dear son,John Sherbondy. He is also survived by Janet’s children, Stephen Miller and Lisa Miller (Fiorie DeMatteis), who all held a special place in his heart.

Glenn used his tremendous mechanical skills and talent to build, repair, and create. He had a stellar career as a diesel mechanic at Waste Management. He then moved to Key West, built trolleys, and enjoyed boating with Janet in his free time. 

Glenn was an adventurer. Upon retirement, he and Janet traveled the country, visiting family and exploring national parks. This is where Las Cruces was discovered and soon became home. Glenn was an avid reader and was drawn to Western themes. 

Glenn was deeply loved and cherished. If you knew him, you knew a good man. He will be missed greatly by friends and family. He leaves a legacy behind in his children and the many lives that he touched. In death, there is great hope. Glenn has just received an upgrade to a million-dollar view that will be enjoyed for eternity.
