Send Flowers George E. Lunsford March 30, 1957 - March 10, 2017 George E. Lunsford, 59, of Las Cruces, NM went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Leo and Hallie Lunsford in Silver City, NM on March 30, 1957. He grew up in Garfield, NM along with his siblings, Debbie, Leroy and Suzie who passed away at young age. George graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 1975, where he was active in football, baseball and track. Many of his friends from his high school days became lifelong friends. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps for four years and the United States Army for 18 years where he retired as Sergeant First Class. His civil service career began at White Sands Missile Range in 1999, the last 15 years working at TRADOC Analysis Center. George will be dearly missed by those who loved him and there are many. His easy-going manner endeared him to all. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind a beautiful legacy. George is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia, of 35 years, a daughter Jillian Fisher, Husband Sergeant Andrew Fisher and their son Christian of Oceanside, CA, and son, Jordan Lunsford of Phoenix, AZ. A visitation will be held at Las Cruces First Assembly of God Church, 5605 Bataan Memorial West at 9:00AM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with the Funeral Service immediately following at 10:00AM with Pastor James Gildon officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. First Visitation
