Genevieve Rosales

An angel gained her wings on January 20, 2021. Genevieve Lopez-Rosales was born on April 2nd 1948 to Gilbert and Catarina Lopez. She was a lifelong resident of San Ysidro, NM where she was married to Humberto Rosales for over 50 years. Genevieve graduated from Mayfield High school in 1967 and was a proud Trojan. Genevieve devoted her life to her husband and children, and soon to follow Grandchildren. Genevieve was an amazing cook and loved to bake for her family. Genevieve was also a member of the Roman Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of Purification in Dona Ana NM. She would love to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe every year and a proud member of the Danza Azteca Chichimeca. She was also a member of the Women of Moose for many years. Genevieve would love to have a houseful of family and friends, in fact at any given moment you would find a house full of children, grandchildren and recently Great Grandchildren. Genevieve was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt, sister and Friend. She would always lend an ear when you needed to talk, a shoulder to cry on when needed and would offer the best advice, and would never shy away from giving you a strict scolding if needed. Genevieve is survived by her Husband Humberto Rosales also known as Tata, who is her lifelong companion for over 50 years! Humberto and Genevieve were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Martha Lopez (Luis), Norma Lopez-Rosales (Joshua) and Katherine Rosales (Johnny). Humberto and Genevieve also cared for their two nieces, Melissa Ramirez (Antonio) and Suzann Ochoa (Gume) and raised them as their own. She is extremely loved by each and every one of her Grandchildren: Gilbert, Oscar, Tunie, Antonio Jr, Amber, Karyna, Daniel, Brody, Allina, Jaden, Tamara, Felicity and Jaylen and Great Grandchildren, Penelope and Exavien. They are all Missing her tremendously. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Catarina and Gilbert Lopez. Two Brothers, Gilbert Lopez Jr, and Thomas Lopez. Visitation for Genevieve will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E Bowman Ave. Celebration of Life will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday January 28, 2021, at Our Lady of Purification, 5525 Cristo Rey St, in Dona Ana, NM. She will be laid to rest at Masonic Cemetery 760 S. Compress Rd. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Gilbert Lopez, Oscar Cruz, Tunie Molina III, Daniel Molina, Antonio Ramirez Jr, Antonio Ramirez, Joshua Perez, Luis Lopez and Johnny Briseno, with an Honorary Pallbearerr: Humberto Rosales.
