Genevieve Guerrero "Veva" Rodriguez

Genevieve "Veva" Rodriguez, age 92. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma, Born November 4, 1930, in Las Cruces N.M. passed away at her home on Saturday April 1, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Leaving behind a legacy of love, happiness, and strength. Veva was an energetic and vibrant person who brought a smile and laughter to anyone she knew or met. She would help anyone and was always there for her family. She had a love for life and family was the most important thing to her. She was the strength and the backbone of the family. Above all else Veva adored her husband Samuel, their love was unattainable, and her three sons Sammy, Ronnie, and Larry along with her grandkids were the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Her love and support for them knew no bounds.

Veva retired from the City of Las Cruces she also worked for the Dona Ana County Clerk's Office and Mesilla Valley Dispatch. She loved shopping at Dillard's, playing bingo, and cards, vacationing in Las Vegas, cooking, laughing, and dancing around in her kitchen. And loved having her house full of family. Her laugh was contagious.

Veva is survived by her two sons Sammy (JoAnn Marin) and Ronnie Rodriguez (Becky). she was blessed with 4 Grandchildren Vivikka Pena (Javier), Samantha Rodriguez, Sabrina Rodriguez, RonLarry Rodriguez (Sylvia) and 6 great grandchildren, Gaidge Pena, Doreyan and Derrick Diaz, Dominick, Amorie and Arijah Moreno, her beloved brother Sammy Guerrero (Virginia) and extended family Elizabeth Gustavo and Alicia Ochoa and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel, her son Larry and her mother and father Dolores (Lola) and Daniel (papa hon) Guerrero. Along with two brothers Bobby, Daniel, and sister Jenny (baby).

Services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Getz Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 am, Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services to celebrate Vevas life will be held immediately following the Funeral at the Elks Lodge 3000 Elks drive Las Cruces, NM 88005.
